He was predeceased by: his parents, Elder Altavsita Coles and Gladys Myers Coles; his wife Delois Johnson Coles; his daughters, Evangelist Vertna Coles Payne and Amanda Coles Jones; and his siblings, Raymond Coles, Gertrude Dews, Gladys Smith and Bertha Coles Younger.
He is survived by: his niece Amanda; his children, Helen Tubbs (Elder Frederick Tubbs) of Hurt, VA and Randolph Allenza Coles of Altavista, VA; his siblings, Nancy Miller (Wayne) of Hurt, VA, Beulah Coles Grace of Indianapolis, IN and Carlton Coles (Maxine); his niece Dr. Jacqueline Coles; his son-in-law Reggie Jones of Hurt, VA; and his siblings-in-law, Aaron Johnson, Evangelist Mary Belle Pannell of Gladys, VA and Stella Myers (Walter) of Altavista, VA. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; seven foster great grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; four step great-great grandchildren.
