He is survived by: his children, Dean Dalton (Lisa) of Altavista, Melody Clark (David) of Roanoke and Pamela Pillow (Bobby) of Altavista; his grandchildren, David Moore, Kasha Moore, Rachael Dalton, Jonathan, Jay Pillow and April Gillispie; his great grandchildren, Madalyn, David "Bubbie", Brayden, Aurora, Abel, Alijah, Christian, Addison and Olivia; his brother Junior Dalton of Newport News; and his close friend Ronnie Hall. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
