It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sylvia Durity of Alexandria, Virginia, who passed away on February 9, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Alma Durity and Fitzroy Durity; her siblings, Edmond Durity and Joyce Thompson; her son Allan Durity; her niece Natalie Durity; and her brother-in-law Oswald Thompson.
She is survived by: her siblings, Joseph Durity and Victoria Durity; her children, Stephen "Steve" Durity, Roger Durity, Terrance "Terry" Durity and Abena Durity; her nieces and nephews, Beverly Ann Thoma, Nicole Durity, Kathleen Durity, Wendell Thompson and Kerwin Durity; her grandchildren, Ayanna Durity, Kwadjo Durity, Zacariah "Zack" Durity Black and Nathanael "Nate" Durity Paulina; and her great grandchild Annaya Andrews.
Due to current COVID-19 pandemic there will not be a repast after the funeral.
She was always collecting gently used clothing, monetary donations or food items to assist in the church's Saturday's Caribbean style cooking, which provided free meals and clothing to the disadvantaged and homeless people in the community.
