He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Dr. Carl Traugott and Elizabeth Demmer Traugott; his sister Ursula; his wife Helen Younghans; his daughter Meredith Selby; his son-in-law Mike Selby of Alexandria; his son Philip; his daughter-in-law Nancy Traugott of Santa Fe; and his grandson Luc Traugott of Washington, DC..
Dr. Traugott retired from Martin Marietta in 1986 and took a position with The National Science Foundation evaluating grant proposals until 1994 when he fully retired.
