Kevin Jochems wrote a sympathy message

“I am not family to the Davis's yet Marilyn made me feel like I was. During my last few years in Alexandria we shared many meals.....omg I am imagining her brisket right now. And while quiet in her community work- she helped lift up many people that I came to know through her. She helped me a lot. I could offer examples of her kindness to me because there are many!! Yet, what I would like to say is this. I met Marilyn through Corry and she just ended up over time being a semi-surrogate mother AND I know that she would hate that assessment! To me and for me Marilyn Mendelson Davis was the epitome of a strong, educated woman and mother. She was kind and giving......had a great, often brutal wit and would let you know when you could be doing better! I will miss her so and still I am so very grateful for the times together that we had. My love and support to Corry, Robin, Becky et al and all family and friends. While I am in Colorado and cannot attend tomorrow- I have been telling Marilyn stories and sharing some of her good deeds to all of my friends here.”
