“How very sad and unexpected. I was part of a small group of former FAA Aviation Security folks including Karl, and there had the benefit of his knowledge and his humor. Karl was amazingly deep, with expertise ranging well beyond his profession. He was a wellspring of information in areas from classical music to history to psychology. He was amusing, deep, and had a nearly photographic memory for details, both recent and long ago. I will miss his knowledge and subtle wit.”
