He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Roberson of Mobile and Solomon Robins of Mobile; and his sons, James Jr. and Stephen of Boston, MA. He is survived by: his wife Carlene; his stepdaughters, Debra Cook of Falls Church, VA and Carlene Jackson (Warren) of Wilmington, NC; his grandchildren, Elaine Smith (Preston) of Capitol Heights, MD, Joshua Cook of Jacksonville, FL, Rachel Bradford (Justin) of Leland, NC and Ingrid Jackson of Greensboro, NC; his brother Daniel Brown; his sister-in-law Renelda Brown; his nieces, Brentina Taylor of Woodbridge, VA, Whitney Pringle (Anthony) of Woodbridge, VA and Brooke Taylor of Richmond, VA; his close friends, James Lewis of San Francisco, CA and Robert Steele of Alexandria, VA; and also, Ann Williams, Gloria Walker, Wylie Walker Jr. of Mobile, AL and Tara Williams of Houston, TX. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
