She was predeceased by: her husband George Knighton; and her daughter Janine Knighton. She is survived by: her children, Denise Robinson, Donna Garfield, Karen Pollard and Brian Knighton. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be gratefully accepted by The Children's Inn at National Institutes of Health.
