He was predeceased by: his son William Ray "Billy" Stephens. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Lafoon Stephens; and his daughters, Diane Holland (Larry) and Terry Runion (Lee). He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Hope Christian Church Cemetery Fund.
