She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Branch Walthall and Mary Kelly Walthall; and her husband Edward K. Avery. She is survived by: her children, Joseph W. Avery (Ann), John E. Avery (Mary) and Mary Alice Adams (Mike); her grandchildren, Edward D. Avery (Caroline), William S. Avery (Lizzie), Elizabeth A. Avery, Patrick H. Avery (Annie), Margaret A. Avery (Maggie), John K. Avery (Jack), Meredith K. Adams and Mitchell W. Adams; her great grandchildren, Adley R. Avery and Margaret M. Avery (Margot); and her siblings, Mary Marble Jones (S. B. Jones, Sr.) and Edward Branch Walthall, Jr. (Gayle). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
