He is survived by: his wife Minnie; his daughters, Dorothy "Ann" Moore (Antonio) and Sallie "Denise" Nelson (Tanga); his grandchildren, Ja'Von Nelson, Jey (Kell Moore), Deshonda Hicks, Deshawn Hicks, Demetrius Nelson of Israel, Reavis, Jr. and Timothy Wright; his sister Tina Nelson; his siblings-in-law, Elsie Banks, Brenda Moseley, Mattie Grant (Joseph), Doris Davis of Alberta, Virginia and William Coleman (Brenda) of Alberta; his friend Sonny Smith; his sister-in-law Stella Banks of Kenbridge; and his siblings, Willie and Cherol Watkins. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives.
