She was predeceased by: her parents, Kemper Alden Rodes and Stella Rodes (Duncan) of Afton, VA.; her husband James Orville Toms, Sr.; and her siblings, Erline Rodes Spell, Alden Rodes and Philip Rodes.
She is survived by: her children, Greg Toms (Kathy) of Fishersville, James O. Toms, Jr. (Ann) of Troy, VA and Carolyn Toms Montgomery (late Don) of Waynesboro, VA; and her grandchildren, Bryan Zimmerman (Denise) of Waynesboro, VA, James O. Toms, III (Amy) of White Post, VA and Lanora Clarridge (Ian) of Ashburn, VA. She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.
