He was predeceased by: his parents, John D. Anderson Sr. and Margaret Dameron Anderson; his wife Jo Anne Gray Anderson; and his siblings, Dora Mae Caprye, John D. Anderson Jr. and Clifton Anderson.
He is survived by: his close friend Bobbie Smith; his daughters, Kim Mayo (Billy) and Denise Thompson (Jeff); his grandchildren, Shane Mayo, Kelly Brown (Fred), Emily Thompson and Stephanie Thompson; his great grandchildren, Karsen, Kendreck, Camden, Anderson Cooper, Delanie, Marley, Emersen, Kameron and Kassidy; and his nephew Mike Beasley.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McDow Funeral Home (1701 W Main St, Waynesboro, VA 22980). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Hebron Baptist Church (66 Tanbark Dr, Afton, VA 22920).
