She was predeceased by: her parents, George Elliott Gray and Nancy Kornegay Gray; her husband Raymond Glenn Rainey; her daughter-in-law Maria Casas Rainey; and her sister Barbara Gray Graves.

She is survived by: her children, John Rainey of Batesville, VA, Lawrence Rainey (Gayle) of Barboursville, VA and Tina Rainey of Charlottesville; her grandchildren, Tammy Pierce, John M. Rainey, Mary Heishman, Joey Rainey, Jessica Shifflett, Miki Rainey, Carrie Rainey and Samantha Rainey; and her nephews, Tony Graves, Mark Graves and Jeffery Graves.
