He was predeceased by: his former wives, Janice and Betty; his daughter Gail Layne; his siblings, Lillian Kerby, Walter Layne and William Layne; and his grandson Robert Boyd.
He is survived by: his children, Deborah Boyd (Jerry) and Alfred "Sonny" Layne Jr. (Vanessa); his brothers, Arthur Layne and Ronald Layne; his grandchildren, Kathryn, Shannon, Aaren, Ginny and Meghan; and his stepchildren, Rocky Jones, Blake Jones and Millie Moore.
