He was predeceased by: his parents, Isaac Wharton and Clentia Elizabeth Watson Wharton; his wife Ruth Stewart Wharton; his son Stephen Wharton; his daughter-in-law Larna Wharton; and his siblings, Mattie, Sareh, Alice, Matthew, Nathanial, Thomas, Daniel and Luther Wharton.
He is survived by: his brother Jerome Wharton (Jane) of Berlin, Maryland; his sister-in-law Dolly Wharton of New Church; his godchildren, Katelyn Vanhart, Isaiah Vanhart and Timoth Vanhart; and his close friends, Toby, Ovie Williams and Wayne Marshall.
