It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Berlie Shields (Accomac, Virginia), born in Wachapreague, Virginia, who passed away on September 22, 2022, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parent Purnell Smith; and her husband Lemuel Shields, Sr.. She is survived by: her children, Janice Rouse of Waldorf, MD and Lemuel Shields, Jr. of Fort Washington, MD; her adoptive son Michael Nock; her grandchildren, Shawn Rouse (Sharron) and Latonya Brinson; her great grandchildren, Joshua Donaldson, Kyla Rouse, Cameron Kidd, Marlie Donaldson and Kaidyn Simpson; and her siblings, Sara Smith, George Smith, Sr., Wallace Smith (Bessie) and Calvin Smith. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and life long friends.
