She is survived by: her children, Lyle Duone Purnell of Hampton, VA and Whitney Denise Purnell of Charlottesville, VA; her sister Rose L. Tyler of Accomac, VA; her stepchildren, Deanna Pesik (Eric) of Minneapolis, MN, Patricia Ann Purnell of Mill Valley, CA, Pearline Penny Purnell of Los Angeles, CA and Miller Edward Purnell, Jr. of San Jose, CA; her sister-in-law Gloria Purnell; her nephews, Glenn Northam (Delores) of Onancock, VA and Henry Johnson (Sharone) of Accomac, VA; and her close friends, Takasha Howell (Lonnie) of Newport News, VA, Jessica Snipes (Wayne) of Severn, MD, Barbara Strand of Accomac, VA, Annette Garris (Terry) of Accomac, VA and Gwendolyn Northam (David) of Bear, DE. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Jerleane's Funeral Service (24497 Mary N Smith Rd, Accomac, VA 23301). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the New Metompkin Baptist Church (20371 Lankford Hwy, Parksley, VA 23421). A burial was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 12:00 PM.
