He is survived by: his wife Kathi L. Mahala; his children, Elizabeth Bagwell (Jason) of Waterloo, SC, Heather Mahala (Justin Frye) of Glade Spring, VA, Holli Mahala of Abingdon, VA and James Robert Mahala of Mesa, AZ; his grandchildren, Dimitri Wells, Lorelai Bagwell, Abigail Mahala, Alan Mahala and Harlo Frye; and his brothers, Earnest Mahala, Paul Mahala (Judith) and Dewey Mahala. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
