He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Thomas W. Green and Cornelia Green. He is survived by: his wife Sharon O. Green of Blountville, TN; and his children, Barbara Ann Mendler of Cary, NC, Dr. Thomas W. Green III (Leslie) of Ashboro, NC, Andrew W. Green (Cathy) of Richmond, VA, Dr. Virginia L. Bartlett (Preston) of Baton-Rouge, LA, Elizabeth G. Elliott (Neal) of Roanoke, VA, Dr. Adam T. Green (Erin) of Worcester, MA and Kemble L. Green (Garrett) of Eugene, OR.. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 1st 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Farris Funeral Service – Main Street Chapel (427 E Main St, Abingdon, VA 24210). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 2nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, Sharon and Tom's children are requesting donations to non-profit causes that he cared about deeply: animals, kids, and the Chesapeake. Thus, please consider the Margaret B. Mitchell Spay/Neuter Clinic, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
