It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sylvester Lee Odum (Abingdon, Virginia), who passed away on October 25, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry and Susie Webb Odum. He is survived by: his wife Eunice Ann Odum; his children, Cynthia Odum Howell (Bobby) and Brian Odum (Terresa); his grandchildren, Sarah Hicks, Joshua Hicks (Christa), Dustin Odum, Darren Odum and Dylan Odum; his great grandchildren, Kandace Hicks, Kiersten Hicks and Zoey Mason; and his siblings, Calvin "Cowboy" Odum (Helen) and Elizabeth "Topsie" Dixon (Arvin). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 3:45 PM and on Friday, November 1st 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM. Visitation was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Forest Hills Memory Gardens (19415 Lee Hwy, Abingdon, VA 24210).
