He was predeceased by: his parents, George Young and Ruby Young; his former wife Shirley; his wife Dorothy; his siblings, Norman Young, Vivian Bell and Louise Cross; and his brother-in-law Remus Bell (Johnson, Jr.).
He is survived by: his children, Mary Moffatt, Paul Young (Sharon), David Young (Becky) and Michael Young (Caroline); his grandchildren, Bethany Young, Melanie Young, Scott Moffatt (Amy), Eric Moffatt (Heather), Taylor Linkous (CJ) and Bryce Young; his great grandchildren, Hudson Moffatt, Trevor Moffatt, Colette Moffatt and Emersyn Linkous; and his siblings, Charles Young, Freddie Young and Evelyn Riggle.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 2nd 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Farris Funeral Service – Main Street Chapel (427 E Main St, Abingdon, VA 24210). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Forest Hills Memory Gardens (19415 Lee Hwy, Abingdon, VA 24210).
