He was predeceased by: his parents, Perk Hurd and Kate Dale Hurd; his wife Joy Thomas Hurd; his brothers, Gene Hurd and Jack Hurd; and his close friend Angel.
He is survived by: his children, Wendi Hurd and Tim Hurd (Jessica); his siblings, Marvin Hurd (Shirley), Doris Hurd, Mary Phibbs, Linda Yarber (Allen) and Maxie Hayden (Haynes); and his grandson Bradan Hurd. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Frost Funeral Home (250 E Main St, Abingdon, VA 24210).
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN.
