He was predeceased by: his parents, William Henry Cole, Sr. and Willie Moore Cole; his son Jason Trent Cole; and his brother William Henry Cole, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Cole; his daughter Deirdre Cole (Christopher Robinson); his stepsons, John Michael King (Cortnei) and Stephen Curtis King (Danielle); his granddaughter Lauren May (Michael); his stepgrandchildren, Destiny King, Alexis Marshall, Micah King, Slade King, Abigail King, Evelyn King and Skylar King; his great grandchildren, Taylor May, Aislynn Seagroves and Aurora May; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Ryker Marshall, Julian Marshall and Lila Rose Torres.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Highlands Ballet Company (18174 Lee Hwy. Abingdon VA 24210) or to Fellowship Chapel (201 Crockett St. Bristol VA 24201) in memory of John.
