We are sad to announce that on January 31, 2025, at the age of 83, Jesse Albert Jones of Abingdon, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Furman Jones and Sibyl Johnson Jones; and his siblings, Thomas F. Jones, Jr. and Doris Cowan Barker. He is survived by: his wife Lara Lyman Jones of Abingdon, VA; his brother Winston Jones of Carrollton, GA; his sister-in-law Joyce Jones of Appalachia, VA; his sons, Bill Hudson (Jill) of Atlanta, GA and David Hudson (Michelle) of Alpharetta, GA; his stepdaughters, Alison Kirksey Chimley (Bill) of Signal Mountain, TN and Carolyn Kirksey Connor of Canton, GA; his nephews, Tim Jones (Martha) and Aaron Jones (Lynn) of Carrollton, GA; his niece Pam Jones Hutchinson (Mark) of Appalachia, VA; and his pet Rocky. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Farris Funeral Service – Main Street Chapel (427 E Main St, Abingdon, VA 24210).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Jesse's honor to: Bristol Humane Society, 16222 Lee Highway, Bristol, VA 24201; or Tri-State Animal Rescue, 1731 Holton Ave East, Big Stone Gap, VA 24219.
