He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Stophel and Minnie Stophel; and his brothers, Eddie Sowder and Johnny Sowder. He is survived by: his wife Ann Stophel; his daughter Jessica Hurd; his son-in-law Tim; his grandson Brady Hurd; his niece Tammy Phillippi; his nephew Tim Sowder; and his siblings, Frank Stophel and Ginger. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Frost Funeral Home (250 E Main St, Abingdon, VA 24210). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 at 1:45 PM at the same location.
