James D. Gillenwater Jr. Obituary

We are sad to announce that on May 28, 2021, at the age of 37, James D. Gillenwater Jr. of Abingdon, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Darwin Gillenwater, Virginia Cline Gillenwater, Eugene Scyphers and Dorothy Hawkins Scyphers. He is survived by: his parents, James D. "Jim" Gillenwater, Sr. and Constance Scyphers "Connie" Gillenwater; his wife Krystina Gillenwater of Oakwood; his daughter Madison Brooke Gillenwater; his sisters, Virginia Gillenwater "Ginger" St. John (Todd) of Abingdon and Rebecca Gillenwater Thompson (Erik) of Abingdon; his godparents, Michael Gibson and Linda Scyphers Hartsock; his nieces and nephews, Olivia Thompson, Mary Cline Thompson, Stephen St. John, Jr. and Luke St. John; and his friends, Bruce Moretz and Bobbie Moretz. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant View United Methodist Church Shelter Fund.
