It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bessie Sue Hess (Abingdon, Virginia), born in Lebanon, Virginia, who passed away on January 28, 2024, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Lawrence Helton and Claudine Yates Helton; her sons, Mark and Robert Gobble; her grandson Timothy Little; and her great grandchild Nevaeh Fields.
She is survived by: her sons, John Fields, Matthew McCoy and Benny Hess; her sister Eva Cody; her brother-in-law Harvey; her brother Jessie Helton; her sister-in-law Karen; and her grandchildren, Allen Wright, Brandon Gobble, Mark Gobble, Jay Fields, John McCoy, Nikki Widner, Jessica Morrison and Bradley Moore. She is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
