With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lamont Gail Cragun of West Valley City, Utah, born in Oakland, California, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 13, 2025 at the age of 80. He was predeceased by: his father Calvin; and his former wife Kathy. He is survived by: his brother Byron; his stepmother Barbara; his children, Michelle, Michael, Bryan and Jeff; his wife Cleta Cragun (Johnson); his sisters, Colleen Harris (Morgan) and Roberta Cragun; his half-siblings, Morrell Harris (Carrie), Kaya Cragun and Kerrina Cragun; his stepdaughter Suzy Zahler; and his stepgrandchildren, Michelle Jensen (Joe), Mike Cragun, Bryan Cragun (Kaylene) and Jeff Cragun. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren (9 spouses), and 9 great-grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Granger 15th Ward (3175 S 3450 W, West Valley City, UT 84119). A burial was held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Calendar Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery (6500 S Redwood Rd, West Jordan, UT 84084).
