He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Johann Peter Oscar Broederlow of Natewa Bay and Valasi Sa'e Asomua of Iva Savai'i, Samoa.; his brothers, Harry Broederlow and Magele Osa Broederlow; and his children, Leonard Lafoga Broederlow, Doris Fa'ataualofa Tumanuvao (Samoa), Joyce Valasi Young Yen (Risati), Rudolph Clay Broederlow (Timena) and Lilly Joyleen Lavata'I (Edison). He was also cherished by children, 24 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren.
