He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ernest Nielson and Ruth Gubler; his daughters, Carrie, Camille (Chris) and Stepan; and his sister Quinta Beatty (Dell).
He is survived by: his wife Janice Gerber; and his children, Christine Hogan (Cristopher), Marianne Winget, Natalie Adams (Duane), Kathryn Horlacher (Matthew), Bryant Nielson (Kim), Garrett Nielson, Stuart Nielson (Rachael), Lana Royle (Steve), Cheryl Greer (Doug) and Mark Nielson (Camilla). He is also survived by fifty grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren.
