He was predeceased by: his parents, Quince Dewitt Johnson and Chloe Maria Hall Johnson; and his siblings, Mabel Nebeker (Stan), Ivy Scilley, Stella Harmston (Jim), Nelda Christensen, Eldon "Jiggs" Johnson (Clifta), Dean Johnson (Clifta) of Iowa and Larry Johnson (Judy).

He is survived by: his brother-in-law Gale Christensen.
