He was predeceased by: his parents, William Petersen and Mary Lavon Wagstaff Petersen; his brothers, Earl and Harold (Virginia); and his daughter Christine.
He is survived by: his children, Willis, Earl, Harold, Carol and Reed; his spouse Virginia Lee; and his children, Kendall, Steven, Larry, Ken Petersen, Lisa Shinney and Steve. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
