He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Jack C. Bates and Pauline Jacques; his wife Jill Bates; his siblings, Richard, Ted Contes and Teresa Bates Bonin; his former wives, Jessica Graham, Nicole Salazar and Natalie Bates; his children, Dani Marble, Jade Marble (Trisha), Judson Marble (Gina), Braydon Marble (Alexis), Tiffany Fawson (Jared) and Anthony Bates; and his son-in-law Anthony Salazar.

Funeral and graveside services will be closed to other than to immediate family due to COVID restrictions.
