He was predeceased by: his parents, George Leslie Payne and Mabel Elizabeth Sandall; his stepchildren, Kelly Perkes and Jackie Carter; his sons-in-law, Dee Wilson, Dennis Carter and Gary Booth; and his great grandchild Dustin Potter.
He is survived by: his wife Liz; his children, Douglas (Kathleen), Paula and Peggy Nelson (John); and his stepdaughters, Tammy Ward (Base), Patti Booth, Becky Riggs (Lyle) and Stephanie Lee (Vince). He is also survived by 34 grandchildren, 67 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
