James Stanley Eddings Obituary
James (Jim) S Eddings, 76, passed away peacefully at his home on December 6, 2023. He was born on June 22, 1947 in Redlands, California to Jack and Amy Eddings. Jim lived a life filled with love, adventure, and dedication.
Joyfully united in matrimony on September 25, 1966, Jim married the love of his life, Karlene Eddings, at the Cupids Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Throughout his journey, Jim resided in various places including Yucaipa, California; Fort Ord, California; Brigham City, Utah; and Malad, Idaho. He cherished each place for the experiences and memories it brought him.
After completing his education at Yucaipa High School and Riverside City College, Jim embarked on a fulfilling career at Thiokol-ATK where he devoted over 30 years of service as a pipe fitter/plumber and foreman. In the year 2007, he retired from his dedicated profession.
A courageous patriot, Jim honorably served his country as an E4 Specialist in the United States Army for two years during the Vietnam War.
In his leisure time, Jim found solace and joy in various outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, camping and horseback riding. Additionally, he had an indelible passion for high school and college sports. Above all else though, Jim adored spending quality time with his beloved family—especially his cherished grandkids who brought him immeasurable happiness.
Deeply committed to his faith and spirituality, Jim was a valued member of the Victory Baptist Church in Malad, Idaho.
In addition to leaving behind a legacy of treasured memories that will forever be etched in our hearts, Jim is survived by his devoted wife, Karlene, and their six children: Jim of Brigham City, UT, Joanne (Brian) of Brigham City, UT, Susie (Stacey) of Malad, ID, Katie (Paul) of Evanston, WY, Andrea (Ammon) of Windsor, CO, and Tiffany (Ben) of Malad, ID. He was also blessed with 22 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Jim is preceded in death by his loving parents, his daughter Julie Wight, and his grandson River Eddings. Although grieving their loss deeply, we will forever cherish the memories we shared with him.
A service to celebrate Jim's remarkable life will be held on Monday, December 11, 2023 at 6:30 P.M. at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home located at 111 N 100 E in Tremonton. We welcome all who knew and loved Jim to join us as we remember a man who touched our lives in profound ways.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Home Health Care Nurses in Malad, Idaho and Dr. LeAnne Malooly from the Pocatello VA for their exceptional care and support during Jim's final days.
