She was predeceased by: her parents, Vivin Asay and Verda Asay (Hugh Gowans); her daughter Trina Gowans; her granddaughter Ashley Gowans; her son-in-law Jim Hartley; and her siblings, Eugene Asay (Gene) and Zelda Edgar.

She is survived by: her children, Todd Gowans (Tamera), Don Gowans (Joy), Troy Gowans (Brenda), Brad Gowans (Michelle) and Tonya Hartley (Jim); and her brother Dennis Asay. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
