She was predeceased by: her parent Quirino Garo; her husband Mark; her stepson Mark; her siblings, Benjamin Garo, Mary Lapenia (Garo) and Denise Gordon (Bates); her stepfather Dennis Bates; and her nephew Malaki Porter.

She is survived by: her mother Anna Bates (Valmoja) of Tooele; and her siblings, Adele (Robert Woodard), John (Desma Garo) and Grace (Jeff Criner). She is also survived by many aunties, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She loved spending time with her mom crocheting hats and scarves to donate to local churches and hospitals.
