He was predeceased by: his parents, Garney LaWar Madsen and Preal Hanks; and his siblings, Garney, Barbara, Faye, Chuck and Doug.
He is survived by: his wife Yvette Jaterka Madsen. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
