He was predeceased by: his parents, Rebecca Rushton Ek and John Marvin Ek; his close friend JoAnn; his sister Venae Duckworth; his son-in-law Thomas Hatch; and his grandson Aaron Hatch.
He is survived by: his children, Marla Bath (Lynn), Marsha Hatch, Shawn Ek (Madelyn), Kevin Ek (Berdette), Debra Bowen (Steven), Laura Whitworth (Barry) and Krista Mathison (Jason). He is also survived by 24 grandchildren; and 56 great-grandchildren.
