She was predeceased by: her parents, Lila Packer Caldwell and Armand Yens Gunderson (Gunner); and her stepfather Earle Caldwell. She is survived by: her siblings, Brent Gunderson (Geri) and Joanna Kellerstrass (Gary). She is also survived by 9 nieces and nephews; and many very important great nieces and nephews.

Laurel received the prestigious 'Thomas A. Gonda, MD, Employee of the Year' An award given to an employee who has been nominated by co-workers and selected by a committee based on the nominee's ongoing and outstanding contributions to the institution's mission.
