He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Lewis and Leona Johnson Butler; his wife Margaret; his brothers, Mark Ray Butler and Leland Eugene Butler; his siblings-in-law, Katie Murillo, Joyce Butler, Gayle Butler, Stanley Gallagher and Bud Murillo; his nephews, Scott Gallagher and Frederick Butler; and his niece Jennifer Caprasecca.
He is survived by: his sons, Brett Butler (Jenae) and Gregory Butler (Lori); his grandchildren, Ian (Teagan), Makenzie (Tanner), Connor (Sarah), Anna and Ryan; his great grandchild Taggert Ross Prestwich; and his siblings-in-law, John Mitchell, Evelyn Gallagher, Mary Lynn Reed, Olivia Mitchell and Beverly Butler. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
