He was predeceased by: his parents, Lora Bertha Francis Johnson and Ralph Emerson Day; his siblings, Thomas Eugene, Arthur Elmus, Sybil Josephine, Terrence Lee and Terry; his son Randy; and his daughter-in-law Larri-Lea.

He is survived by: his sons, Dan (Kris), Stephen (Laurel), David (Karen) and Scott (Grace). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
