He was predeceased by: his parents, Lyle Hayes and Mildred Aletha Egli; his siblings, Ann Ipsen, Larry Hayes and Roger Hayes; and his brother-in-law Gordon Ipsen.
He is survived by: his significant other Loris Elaine Johnson; his children, Rob Hayes (Connie), Karl Hayes (Lynnette), Terri Zufelt (Scott), David Hayes (Marianne), Tom Hayes and Jennifer Hayes; his siblings, Weston Hayes (Barbara), Allen Hayes (Gayle) and Renee Wallentine (Frank); and his sisters-in-law, Barbara Hayes and Delone Hayes. He is also survived by 33 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
