She was predeceased by: her parents, Ariel Hyer and Anne Hyer; her siblings, Paul Hyer, Blaine Hyer and Barbara Montgomery; her husband Cleon Kotter; and her son Van.
She is survived by: her daughter-in-law Alice Allred; and her sons, Rod (Melanie), Rich (Ronda), Quade (Ann), Dirk (Valarie) and Bart (Melissa). She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages acts of service in her honor to reflect her lifelong commitment to helping others.
