Curtis Lee Thorn Obituary
Curtis Lee Thorn, 61, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017 in Spanish Fork, Utah, surrounded by his loved ones. Curtis was born June 7, 1956 in Santa Monica, California to Eugene Charles and Gloria Ann Lewis Thorn. He attended Venice High School and later attended Santa Monica College. Curtis served in the U.S. Air Force. He married Verlena Rae Eichler on January 1, 2010 in Springville, Utah, and they combined their two large families.
He loved family time and he adored his grandkids. They were his everything. He enjoyed trucking, camping, fishing, working on cars, riding his motorcycle, Disney movies, and chili on everything. Curtis also enjoyed visiting his Dad's cabin. Curtis worked as a truck driver, and drove for Celestial Freight Solutions, Stellar Transportation, and Holly Trucking and Thorn Express, which were his own trucking companies.
He loved anything with a motor and traveling to see the sights. He is survived by his wife, Verlena; 10 children, Steven (Jennifer) Lawrence, Bill (Erika) Thorn, Jamie (Jessie) Casteel, Holly Ann Thorn, Curtis Thorn, Preston Buchanan, Kearstin Buchanan, Amber (Shaun) Stevenson, Devin (Cecily) Hutchison, and Katelin Hutchison; 15 grandchildren; siblings, Linda (Bill) Zeider, Charlie (Sheri) Thorn, and Craig Thorn.
He is also survived by his father, Eugene Chuck Thorn. Curtis was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Ann Thorn; grandparents, James and Ann Thorn, and Kenneth and Odilia Lewis; uncles, Lee Roy Thorn, James Victor Thorn; and a cousin, Jeff Roman. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at the Walker Funeral Home Chapel, 187 S. Main Street, Spanish Fork, Utah.
Family and friends may visit on Wednesday evening, June 28, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the mortuary and on Wednesday morning from 10:00-11:15 a.m. prior to the service.
