He was predeceased by: his parents, Orlin Hess and Myrle Hess; his brothers, Daniel Kyle Hess and Wesley Orlin Hess; and his daughter Cheryl Suzanne Hess.
He is survived by: his wife Arleen Hess; his brother Terryl Evans Hess; his nieces and nephews, James Ronald Hess, Randall J. Hess and Stacy Cook Mrozowsk (John); and his stepson Kent Brown (Carole). He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
