He was predeceased by: his parents, Sidney Thornton and Grace Thornton (Nielson); his former wife Lorna D Thornton; and his children, Sherry C. Thornton Kulp, Steven Clyde Thornton and Jeffery Warren Thornton.
He is survived by: his spouse Lee; his children, Deborah Burgess, Dennis (Joyce) and Melanie Bentley (Sam); his daughter-in-law Sherie Moss (Curtis); his stepdaughter Cindy Sessions (Kirk); and his sister Clea Coombs. He is also survived by many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
