He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Deters and Ida Henning Deters; his wife Renee Turnbow; his daughter Wendy Lewis; his grandson Jesse Pierce; his siblings, Ruth, John (Lillian), Hanna and Marion Rynearson (Calvin); and his brother-in-law Rey Miles.
He is survived by: his children, Melanie Pierce (Kevin), Kurt Deters (Terri), Bart Deters (Melanie), Heidi Wold (Andy) and Bret Deters (Camille); his son-in-law Sanford Lewis; and his sisters, Mildred Deters and Elaine Miles. He is also survived by twenty-six grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
