He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Omar Bjelde and Elsie Marie Gartzke; and his daughter Amanda Marie. He is survived by: his children, Donald Bjelde (Chiyomi), Caroline Doll (Ken), Benjamin Bjelde, Adam-Alexander Bjelde (Amy), Elisha Bjelde (J'liane) and Felisha SaBell (Jeff); his stepmother Joan Bjelde; and his siblings, Dave Bjelde (Linda), Dan Bjelde (Kathy), Doug Bjelde, Debbie Bostwick (Tom), Denise Heninger (Troy), Lina Byrne, Omar Bjelde (Jae), Terri Finley (Mike), Danny Willey, Paige Housden and Patty King. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and his three first cousins, and aunts and uncles.
